Acceptable Use

Last updated 15 August 2026

Peddler works because people trust what they see on it. These rules keep it that way. Break them and we may remove your listings, hold funds pending investigation, suspend or close your account, and involve the police where appropriate.

The short version

Sell bikes and bike parts you own, describe them honestly, treat people decently, and keep payment on the platform. That covers almost everything below.

02

Prohibited items

  • Stolen items, or items you cannot lawfully sell
  • Counterfeit or replica items passed off as genuine, including frames, groupsets, and apparel
  • Items subject to a safety recall, sold without disclosing it
  • Anything that is not a bike, bike part, or cycling equipment
03

Listing standards

  • Photos must show the actual item being sold, not stock images
  • Condition must be accurate, with damage, wear, and known faults disclosed
  • One listing per item: no duplicates, placeholders, or advert-only listings
04

Conduct

  • No harassment, abuse, or discriminatory behaviour in messages or reviews
  • No fake offers, shill bidding, or review manipulation
  • No attempts to defraud, including fake payment claims and bait listings
05

Payments

Orders placed on Peddler must be paid through Peddler's held-payment system. Anything you arrange entirely off the platform is at your own risk and is not covered by Buyer Protection or dispute mediation.

06

Enforcement

Reported listings are suspended immediately while we review them. Depending on what we find, we may reinstate the listing, remove it, restrict or close the accounts involved, hold funds pending investigation, and pass information to the police. Reports are confidential: the seller is not told who flagged a listing.
